Bro. Kaske was preaching tonight on faith and I got some ideas which I would like to add. He told a story about a guy who was taken up in one of those old open-cockpit airplanes to see his farm from the air. When they landed, the pilot (his son if I remember the story correctly) asked him if he enjoyed the view. The guy said that there was a lot of beautiful scenery but he didn’t enjoy any of it because he was preoccupied clamping his hands to the seat and hanging on for dear life. Bro. Kaske was saying that all too often we cannot trust humans and things made by them but we can always sit back and relax when God’s in control.

Cats and Baths
Posted by Abigail W. on August 2, 2007 at 11:27 amSpiritual Thoughts
So I was giving my cat a bath today….yeah I know smart huh…… and I noticed that when ever I put her in or near the water she would go crazy. She would use every surface available to try and get away from the water. She would claw, climb, jump, any thing she could use to get away. She did not understand that although getting a bath was a very unpleasant experience (for both her and I ) it was necessary to do. She did not see the end result during the bath all she saw/felt was the agony she had to go through in that moment.
Quick Thought from Kirk - Why Take “Better” When You Can Have “Best”?
Posted by Kirk Kaske on July 31, 2007 at 10:07 pmBrain Teasers, Spiritual Thoughts
Better - a word that means “larger, greater, and superior”. The word “better” is practically everywhere you can see and hear. “This product is better than the rest.” “My daddy is better than yours.” “I am better than you.” “Which one is better?” Our whole society is looking for “better”. My question for you is, “Why settle for “better” when you can have the “best”?”
Power

In acts 1:8 Jesus said that we would receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon us. He also said in John 14:12 that we would do greater works than He did. Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, caused the lame to walk, and the blind to see. We have that same power in us!
Just do it (not nike)

Yesterday at prayer I sat down and read from the bible, like I usually do. I read from 1 Chronicles chapter 28, and I read about how David stood in front of the multitudes of Israel and told them, “I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD.” He wanted to build a house of rest for the presence of the Lord. The bible goes on to say, “But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.” David was not the person that God had seen to build the temple, but he used David to “make ready” the building. He gave David the exact plans of how it was to be build and what he needed to do to prepare in making this temple, but David was not the one God wanted to build it.
