This is my prayer
This is my one desire
To honor You
To lift Your name higher
I want to give of myself
I couldn’t do anything else
Lord, use me

Be glorified
Be lifted high
Be exalted in this place
I won’t lie
You are good every time

This is my prayer
Psalm 97:9 says, “For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.”
This song was not written just to be catchy and sing able, but it was written to express the heart and desire of a worshipper. The desire of a worshipper is to see Jesus high and lifted up, and to see His glory cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. A worshipper does not wish for glory and honor, but wishes to give glory and honor to Jesus.
Now, I do not believe it is bad to recognized or even given credit, but never should we long or desire after it. Our main purpose is to praise and worship Jesus. Our main purpose is to see Him high and lifted up. And I love the words in “To God Be the Glory”, “And should I gain any praise, let it go to Calvary”.
