This year Youth Congress was an incredible event, like I’m sure you’ll hear time after time after time! I’d like to make a quick mention about what was the main concentration was for this youth congress and that was to be continued…
It was said time after time by each person that got up on stage that this year was different and in many ways it was. What really stuck with me was the fact that this year it wasn’t just another event this was a movement. It was a call to all the youth of the United Pentecostal Church to take what they got from this event and move back into their home states, cities, and even countries and continue what God impressed upon each of their hearts to do. And I deeply, strongly, passionately believe that this call, this challenge was directed at each of us here in Rochester and in the state of Minnesota.
I’d like to rewind back to senior camp where Brother Wayne Fransis challenged us to not quit our day jobs. Each one of us has been given a job to reach lost and dying souls and to disciple them to Jesus Christ! Whether we are just the one who plants a seed and shows them goodness, or we take that soul and teach them a bible study and see God give the increase! He stressed in his message, “The night cometh when no man shall work.” We are approaching the night and we cannot afford to quit our day jobs at this time in history. We are called for this time and for this moment!
I started writing this blog a long time ago, as you can see, but I felt impressed to finish it. Though i do not perfectly remember all the events that happened at youth congress I do know that God moved in my heart and life. For those of you that were their I know that you know what and remember the things God did in you lives at that moment. (now over a year later WOW). Since this event it seems the UPCI has had it’s mind set on one thing and that is reaching this world with the Gospel any way that we can. Since the start of this year our superintendent Brother Haney has asked that we start with the groundwork of our doctrine and reestablish it in our families. Then we are to see our churches grow each year for the next 10 years. It’s not just a number game for our superintendent! He is passionate about winning souls and seeing them endure to the end! I share this same passion and so does so many in the Rochester Pentecostal Church along with others in Minnesota.
This is getting long so to finish I want to say. We need a passion for soul winning to sweep our churches from the youngest to the oldest, from the tallest to the shortest, from the wisest to the least informed. Each one of us from the day that God set us free from our sins are called to reach out to other lost souls. YOU may be the only one in that persons life that will every be able to share the gospel with them so get in front of your fears let the Spirit of God lead you and REACH THIS WORLD!!! (2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.)

Agreed. Nicely done Eric. Our city needs to hear about the TRUTH of the gospel; our family and friends deserve to know why we are so “different”.
The 2009 NAYC will be even better! How do I know? It always is!
