Source of My Life
From the NitroGEN Praise Project 2

Verse:
You are the source of my life
My hope that keeps me alive
Nothing can be found true
Without proving the existence of You
And I find this one thing to be true
There is no one like You

Chorus:
I lift my hands up high
I give the glory to You
Everything in this life
Wants to praise You

Bridge:
You are the source of my life
So gracious and kind
So faithful and true
There is none like You

Acts 17:22-28a says, “Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being…”
In this passage of Scripture found in Acts 17, I want to focus your attention to “For in hm we live, and move, and have our being…”

What does it mean to live in Him? When we are filled with the Holy Ghost, doesn’t His Spirit come to live in us? Yes! So what does mean to live in Him or how do we live in Him? Here is my two cents concerning this subject. John 4:24 says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” We can be sure of the fact that God is a Spirit, so we can’t literally live inside of Him. Also, Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” How do we live in Him? With everything we do, we do it for Jesus. With every task we perform, we do it for Jesus. With every conversation we have, we do it for Jesus. With every song we sing, we do it for Jesus. Every time we come to church, we do it for Jesus. Every time we worship Him, we do it for Him. Why? We do what we do because of Who He is and what He’s done for us.

This does not mean that with every second for the rest of our lives, we have to constantly mention Jesus or be praying. Those are good things, but the point is our actions and words should reflect Jesus. When we hang out with friends, we should reflect Jesus. When we are around unsaved family, we should reflect Jesus. Constantly praying and saying the name of Jesus is not bad, but there are people in this world who do not know Who Jesus is. The only way we can show them Jesus is through us. We need Jesus to be the source of our lives so that everything we say and do praises Him.

We do not worship an unknown god. We know Who He is and what His name is-the precious name of Jesus. It is Jesus Who created the world and gives life to all men. It is in Jesus that we live, and we move, and we have our being. Jesus is the source of our lives.
